Once we entered into the customs office to obtain our visa - which was very efficient and easy, as opposed to China's bureaucratic money grubbing system. (It cost me $75 to extend my Chinese visa for one day!!) Nepal, on the other hand wanted to let me in the country until mid January, no questions asked. Nice! But unfortunately I'm scheduled to leave in December. So after that mildly exhilerating experience it was time to board the travel bus that would take us to Dhulikel, a small town in between the border and Kathmandu. This ride took us along dusty dirt roads along steep cliffsides that reminded us the Chinese knew one thing: how to build roads. Nepali roads that went under waterfalls were barely being held together. I thought at some point surely the road would collapse from underneath our bus and we could tumble over the cliff, and we could only hope that the wispy, naturally growing 15 foot high marijuana plants would serve a different purpose to break our fall. In many homes, this is a substantial problem...especially in houses with two or more floor levels. This can result in delays lasting for several minutes. Usually the water heater is not to blame. The cause of this annoying delay is the simple fact that there is a long "pipe run" from the water heater in the basement to the faucet upstairs. If nobody has drawn hot water from that faucet for a while, then all the hot water in the piping has cooled-down to room temperature. That means you have to run that faucet long enough to exhaust all the cold water until hot water finally arrives. This not only wastes your time and inconveniences you but it also wastes all that water down the drain. In some towns the cost of supplying potable water is considerable and, over a year's time, this can really add-up. So, what is the solution? Hot water recirculation. It's very simple and works like this The plumber installs a "T" fitting into the hot water pipe in the wall behind (or below the floor under) the faucet using hot water that is the farthest away from the water heater. The branch of this "T" is connected to a water pipe (half-inch size is good) and this pipe is extended down through the building and over to the water heater ...

It is quite possible to damage the pipes when torquing the faucet with this much force. Again, this is a last resort cartridge removal method. 1. Use a steamy bathroom 2. Peel off the first layer and run the sticky side under the faucet (cool water, not hot) 3. Apply the protector and the thin film of water will make it easier to reposition it and easier to get bubbles out 4. HAIR DRYER TRICK: turn off iPod, blow hot air on any bubbles under the screen protector (this will make the bubbles bigger, but easier to rub out), turn off the dryer and massage the bubbles out. Last minute tip: Don't forget to follow the instructions on the package, always make sure your screen is clean of dust and finger oils, and use Scotch Tape to lift any dust.

Toddler dies from scalding hot water

A three-year-old girl with Down Syndrome died after she was possibly scalded by extremely hot water in a bathtub in Toledo's north end Tuesday evening. Shaniya Sullivan was found unresponsive after police crews responded to a safety check on F Street near St. John's, around 9 pm Cecilia Streeter, Shaniya's grandmother, said she had left two 11-year-old children to watch Shaniya as she went to the store. Shaniya was taking a bath. As her sister went to grab a towel, family members said Shaniya turned the hot water on after turning the faucet. The water so hot it literally melted the skin off the toddler, police said.
