Entry from: Dhulikel, Nepal Entry Title: "Welcome to Nepal" Entry: "Crossing the Friendship Bridge into Nepal was like a breath of fresh air. Once we entered into the customs office to obtain our visa - which was very efficient and easy, as opposed to China's bureaucratic money grubbing system. (It cost me $75 to extend my Chinese visa for one day!!) Nepal, on the other hand wanted to let me in the country until mid January, no questions asked. Nice! But unfortunately I'm scheduled to leave in December. So after that mildly exhilerating experience it was time to board the travel bus that would take us to Dhulikel, a small town in between the border and Kathmandu. This ride took us along dusty dirt roads along steep cliffsides that reminded us the Chinese knew one thing: how to build roads. Nepali roads that went under waterfalls were barely being held together. I thought at some point surely the road would collapse from underneath our bus and we could tumble over the cliff, and we could only hope that the wispy, naturally growing 15 foot high marijuana plants would serve a different purpose to break our fall. Just when we thought about the dangerous roads and added it to our list of things labeled "wouldn't be allowed in the US", a public bus jam packed with people - when I say this I mean people ...
